IMPORTANT DATES:
Singapore Night is this Thursday, September
17th from 6:30-7:30.
Spalding Night is September 22nd from 6:30-8. Come on out to gain a better
understanding of these 2 essential subjects.
Keep in mind that
this Friday (Sept. 18) is a half day. Students should be picked up at 12:30.
We will be reviewing phonograms
55-70 this week. Please make sure your child is reviewing them each night. We will have a spelling and phonogram test
on Friday.
In Language Arts, we have been studying how to make plural
nouns and practicing capitalization rules. On Tuesday we will have a quiz on these.
We will study Order
of Operations in math this week. Knowing their math facts is integral for
the children to build upon what they already know. Please review multiplication facts regularly with your child. There
are many computer math drill games that can help in this area. One strategy
I’ve used with my children is they must do 10-15 minutes of drill before they
can play a computer game.
We are continuing in meteorology with tornadoes and
hurricanes. On Monday, the students take their mountain assessment and then we
will begin our unit on the Middle Ages.
We finish The Wizard of Oz with an assessment on Thursday. On Friday, we
will begin an introduction to Pollyanna. Please make sure your child brings this book in on Friday.
My computer is back up and running well. Thank you IT!
Please clear out the
“keep at home” side of the “take home” folder each day and check and sign the
agenda everyday as well!
