Dear 4A:

I think these next 2 weeks will fly by. We have many activities coming up that I hope you are aware of.

This week we have our Field Day on Thursday and an early release on Friday which is also Great Hearts Day.

Hot lunch will not be served on Field Day, the students will be eating in class and having an academic contest from information that they have learned so far this year. Our class will represent Thebes during the day and our color is yellow. So please have your student wear a yellow shirt, if possible. We could also use a couple of volunteers to go around with our class and help with water and other things that might arise. We can use some donations of water bottles and fruit (cuties, apple slices etc.) for snacks. Please let me know if you can help in any of these things

The school is also asking for more volunteers to help with the running of field day.

Please see my post from last week about Great Hearts Day and Valentine's Day.

Friday the 17th will be our field trip to the MIM (Musical Instrument Museum). Thank you to all the parents who were willing to chaperone, we have 3 who will be accompanying us. Please check the payment portal under field trip to see if you have paid. I cannot check this, so if you have any questions about it, please contact the office.

There will be no school on Monday, February 20 in celebration of Presidents' Day.

Academics this week:
We will be reading Chapters 14 and 15 in Wizard of Oz and working on the study guide for the next test (which will be the next week).

In history, we will study the ancient Arizonans and continue working in our lap book.

In science, we will watch demonstrations on heat transference and study air masses and weather fronts.

We continue with decimals in math. I was VERY pleased with the latest math test, everyone did well on it!

Thank you to the families who brought in tissues!

I hope you have a good week,
Mrs. Gore
