Academics this week:
Our final geology test will be on Thursday.
They already have their study guide for this.
Our second test in Middle Ages will be on Friday. They will be getting the study
guide for this on Tuesday.
As always, there will be a spelling/phonogram test on Friday.
We will begin to talk about the poem, “Paul Revere’s Ride”, this week.
Memorizing this poem is the big project for fourth grade. Each student will
recite it during project week which occurs the first three days after the
students get back from winter break (Jan.
4-6). We will be memorizing it systematically throughout next quarter.
Our Read-a-Thon officially starts Monday. Each student brought home a
login with instructions on how to get started. This is an optional activity; it has no bearing on the student’s grade. It is
just a fun activity that can help raise funds for our classrooms and library.
Students can log in and
start reading/logging time NOW. However, the Read-a-Thon officially starts
Monday, so any minutes reading they log this weekend won't count in terms of
ranking students by minutes read, etc. The minutes that students read
during class time and for their reading logs should also be logged in each day.

and math facts with your child!
